A service for noncommercial radio.Artists for Media Diversity is organized to foster awareness of the need for independent media voices in America. We recognize the need for a variety of media outlets so that people have access to the widest possible diversity in programming.
The Archive for Music Diversity provides the economic basis for us to carry out our mission. Culture for the common good.
Our process is simple:
- Radio stations record artists.
- Artists donate downloads.
- People buy music they like to support stations they love.
Stations need new equipment, money for network affiliation and programing fees, support for people working with community outreach, and so much more.
The Archive for Music Diversity has been designed to generate resources while bringing a diversity of musical voices to the airwaves. Net proceeds from music sales supports stations and helps us to develop a national touring network that includes tour support services for artists and community activists. Another goal is to establish a fund for noncommercial journalism services - freedom of speech through the power of music.
